I bought 1000 shares of VXX last week at $33.99, even though it basically does not perform anything like the index. Example - ^VIX is up 12.3% today (at 13.80) while VXX is up only 4.2% (at $35.22).
Even so, the trade is a good one being up about $1,200 right now. This was triggered from another VIX system I put together that did not require a 10 day max hold time. Debating where or not to take the profit now or let it stay in play until the system gives me the exit signal.

Exited my VXX position late in the trading session at $35.52.
I am getting multiple signals from my VIX filters - go long from one, go short from another. I guess I'll wait until near the close and buy the one down the most.

IN VXX for 1000 shares at $34.00 - this might drift a little lower but at this price I think the trade will net a profit. Will use the VIX system exit signal for this trade.
